My Jiu Jitsu Friends,

My name is Professor Pedro Sauer. I was born and raised in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil, where from an early age, I began training in the
martial arts. At age five, I began boxing and later took up judo and
taekwondo.

At age fifteen, my friend, Rickson Gracie, invited me to train
Jiu-Jitsu with his younger brother, Royler, who at the time was only
nine years old.

The outcome of this experience convinced me Jiu-Jitsu was the most
effective of all the martial arts, and I began training the very next
day.My relationship and passion for Jiu Jitsu has continued throughout
my life

I earned my Black Belt from Helio and Rickson in 1985. As I continued
to develop I became recognized for the superior technical efficiency of
my jiu-jitsu.

I began my career as an instructor in 1986 when I was asked to teach
with an organization known in Brazil as Corpo/Quatro (Body of Four). I
continued my training under renowned Jiu-Jitsu instructor Alvaro
Barreto (who is a red belt master under Helio Gracie).

After moving to Utah in December of 1990, I taught as one of only two
non-Gracie black belts under the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy (run by
Rorion and Royce Gracie). In October of 1996, I was fortunate to become
an official representative Black Belt Instructor under the Rickson
Gracie American Jiu-Jitsu Association.

Currently, I reside in Virginia and instruct at Total Self Defense
Academy and at Jeff Gordon's Self Defense Academy. I also has several
affiliated schools across the country, and I visit them on a regular
basis to give intensive instruction to the students and instructors. I
have participated in hundreds of public seminars around the nation and
maintain a rigorous schedule.

Here is a list of my certifications:

* 1985 - Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Helio and Rickson
Gracie

* 1986 - Tecnico de Jiu-Jitsu. This is a special certificate given in
recognition of superior technical mastery of the art of jiu-jitsu,
given to only a handful of students by Helio Gracie.

* 1990 - Certified Black Belt Instructor by Robson Gracie and the
Federacao de Jiu-Jitsu * Black Belt Judo

* 1993 - 3rd Degree Black Belt from Rorion Gracie

* 1996 - Level 6 Instructor Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy (Rorion and Royce
Gracie)

* 2000 - 5th Degree Black Belt under the Federacao de Jiu-Jitsu

* 2003 - 6th Degree Black Belt

* 2010 - 8th Degree Rickson Gracie Black Belt

"His Teaching Is Very Powerful..."

"I have met many wonderful people in my travels to seminars around the
world. They have been kind enough to write about my teachings, For
Which I Am Very Grateful..."

For me its a great pleasure to write about Professor Pedro Sauer.
I met him in the 80s when he trained Jiu-Jitsu with the Gracie family
and in 1986 he started training under me in my academy Academia Corpo
Quatro in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Shortly after, he became part of my staff as an Instructor at the
academy, always dedicated, disciplined, serious and responsible with a
passion for teaching.
When the opportunity arose for him to move, to the United States, I was
one of the persons who really encouraged him. In the U.S., it was not
easy in the beginning, but he was determined, intuitive and more than
this an entrepreneur. And together with his wife Ann a great supporter
and partner they are today victorious.
Congratulations to the Pedro Sauer Family.

Professor Pedro Sauer is one of the pillars that holds together the

His technique, dedication and professionalism are a major asset to our

Pedro Sauer is an icon. In my opinion he is one of the top BJJ
instructors in the World.
His technical knowledge is tremendous and he learned directly from the
source, Grandmaster Helio Gracie and his son Rickson Gracie.
His dedication to the art is reflected on the many top Black Belts he
has graduated over the years and his incredible BJJ association.
But to me the most important part of his greatness is his character,
Pedro is always honest and always ready to help a fellow human being in
need. I am proud to call him a friend

Professor Sauer is hands down one of the best Instructors I have ever
met.
Not only is he one of the most technical and detailed Teachers, he
genuinely goes out of his way to get to know everyone in his
Association.
More importantly, he sincerely enjoys helping people reach their goals
and improve in Jiu Jitsu. Every time he teaches or explains something
it improves my game and understanding of the Art.
I have met plenty of Instructors and I have to say it doesnt get any
better than learning from Professor Sauer.
Sincerely,
Mark Cukro
Integrated Martial Arts Academy

"I'm only a blue belt, at the beginning of a lifelong journey; so I
wasn't sure if it was really my place to write this. I've trained in
various martial arts for about 12 years. Whatever style I was studying,
I'd always seek out the best instructors for that style.
For the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to have trained
under Professor Robert Lovi, a Pedro Sauer 1st degree black belt.
Professor Sauer is known worldwide in the Jiu-Jitsu community as one of
the world's most technical teachers, and ambassadors of Gracie
Jiu-jitsu. The allegiance and endearment by his students all over the
world says it all. But outside of the BJJ world, he has kept a
relatively low profile.
Having watched many of Professor Sauer's videos, attending his seminar
here in San Diego, and learning under his black belt students, I am
truly grateful to have found him. He is an inspiration in character in
addition to having some of the cleanest Jiu-Jitsu technique I have ever
seen. He has the ability to convey tiny technical details that make all
the difference in my emerging game. His insight into the bio-mechanics
of Jiu-Jitsu is beautiful in its elegant simplicity. He clearly cares
about the personal growth of his students, and has an affable,
down-to-earth humility that belies his tremendous talent.
But his encouragement along our personal journeys is the dimension of
value that has made the most impact for me. His words of wisdom have
kept me positive, motivated and patient. "What is difficult today is
easy tomorrow" is a mantra I say to myself daily, whether it's in
Jiu-Jitsu or another aspect of my life. Thank you Professor Sauer and
Professor Lovi -- Jiu-Jitsu has made such a difference in many aspects
of my life.
Alex Gray
Blue Belt under Professor Robert Lovi

Our family has been in the martial arts profession for 34 years, and in
those three decades, over five continents, we have had the opportunity
to work with some of the best martial artists of our time.
I can say that Professor Pedro Sauer is one of, if not the absolute
best instructor I have had the chance to learn from. His attitude
towards his students, his depth of knowledge and willingness to open up
to everyone is what sets him apart from all others I have worked with.
I speak for my father, brothers and students when I say that we are
grateful to be part of his association and will do no less than our
best to represent him here in Canada.
With love and respect,
Michael Foley and the rest of your family here in Canada.

Professor Sauer is 1 in a million. I watch him change everyone life he
touches, including mine. We owe him a lot as a Professor as a friend.
I have never in my life seen this man be angry or hate on another
person, he is a perfect role model and father figure.
Jiu-Jitsu wise the man is technically perfect. Like a high end
Merchedes. Engine working smoothly, Pefrect Timing, every thing
perfectly engineered.
Much Respect to Professor Sauer.
Robert Lovi
1st Degree Black Belt
Pedro Sauer Team

I was at a difficult crossroads in my life. Pedro took the time to talk
with me about experiences in his life that were very similar and how he
handled it. I'm very grateful for the time I get to spend with him. Not
to mention how jiu-jitsu has been a blessing.
Thank you sir!
Scott Jones

Master Pedro Sauer has radically and forever changed my perception of
Jiu Jitsu from one of a great sport and interesting hobby to one of a
beautiful effective martial art and a life long pursuit.
He has provided a pathway for me to enrich my life and to enrich the
lives of my students and peers.
Under his tutelage I have gained social skills relating to people and
built many lasting friendships while gaining a better understanding of
myself and others.
His technical knowledge is rivaled only by his ability to translate
that knowledge to practitioners of all levels. Professor has inspired
me to pursue the noble deeds of seeking excellence in myself and those
around me.
He has been a great inspiration to me and many others and I am proud to
say he is my mentor, my hero, my friend, and my Professor.
Darron Morse

I am blue belt training in the Washington, D.C. area. I have had the
good fortune to learn from Professor Sauer for the last four years. I
came to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu late in life and have fallen in love with
the art in a large part due to Professor Sauers teaching and approach.
For a woman, Jiu Jitsu is empowering in its focus on leverage and
strategy to address self defense situations. Professor Sauers emphasis
on self defense and careful attention to details and nuances has helped
my understanding of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tremendously.
Without question, Professors extensive and superior knowledge of Jiu
Jitsu and his close connection to Master Helio Gracie shine clearly in
every class he teaches. Moreover, the tone he sets in the gym creates
an atmosphere of congeniality and camaraderie.
He takes the emphasis away from winning and focuses his students
attention on learning and exploring Jiu Jitsu. As he often says, class
should be a laboratory, a time for experimentation and consideration of
whatever technique is being taught.
Professor Sauers openness and respect that he shows for all of his
students is inspiring. When Professor comes into the gym, he always
greets each of his students and introduces himself to the new students.
The respectful tone is mirrored in every black belt I have met in
Professors association. I admire Professor Sauer as both a first class
teacher and human being.
I feel absolutely privileged to have trained under him and hope to be
able to do so for many more years. Thank you for giving me the
opportunity to express my deep respect and gratitude to Professor for
what he has taught me.
Kathy Ortiz

Prof. Sauer has completely changed my lifestyle and attitude, simply by
just being himself. His integrity and character are unsurpassed!
Combine his personality with his Amazing Teaching ability and
Phenominal Jiujitsu Skill there is no wonder he is world renown and
deeply respected by the Martial Arts Community as a whole!
Plus the fact that he has never met a stranger and is genuinely
interested in knowing you makes him amazing equally as a friend!
Eric Myers

I can not say enough about Master Pedro Sauer. I met him almost 5 years
ago, and have seemingly spent every day since with him. I have never
been treated so well by any human being on the Earth, and always have
been made to feel like family. I have learned so much on family, life,
business and of course Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
On the serious end of things, as a police officer I believe it or not
faced a much larger individual than myself. about 4 inches taller and
weighed close to 370 pounds.
At the time i was around 250, so not small by any means. I was
assisting a Va State trooper who was being stomped into the ground by
this guy, long story short, the offender stabbed me in the hand, and
ripped a gun belt off of me.
I was fighting for my life as well as that of the trooper. Refusing to
just survive I ended up taking this fellow's back and putting him to
sleep.
4 sets of handcuffs later, I was done. I did not just survive; I did
not panic, used what I knew and used a control technique (as well as
the choke) to achieve victory and get help for the officer.
I have thanked Professor , as well as Rickson and Relson for their life
saving techniques. I would not be here today without them.
God Bless the Gracie family and Pedro Sauer!
O deus Abençoa-o Pedro Sauer e muito obrigado!
Ben Rhodes

This is Brian Phillips, a purple belt under Professor Sauer at Gracie
Jiu-Jitsu of Kentucky. Although you were mainly looking for
testimonials from brown and black belts, I wanted to respectfully weigh
in on my thoughts.
I've had the honor and pleasure of training with Professor for many
years now. He's a warm, wonderful and brilliant mentor who has the
incredible ability to make the most complex issues (both on and off the
mat) simple and understandable.
Confucius said that "Every truth has four corners: as a teacher I give
you one corner, and it is for you to find the other three." I've
attended numerous seminars conducted by Professor Sauer, and he is the
perfect model for that philosophy.
His talent as an instructor and practitioner is only rivaled by his
ability to convey jiu-jitsu's many concepts through effective
story-telling.
His words unite and keep us in-line with Grandmaster Helio Gracie and
his sons' teaching and training methods.
"Sometimes you have to wait for the apple to fall from the tree," he
always tells me; something that's true in jiu-jitsu as well as in life.
I feel very blessed and fortunate to be a part of his jiu-jitsu family.
Sincerely,
Brian Phillips
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Kentucky

My name is Ray Griffin. I began training with Professor Pedro Sauer in
1999 at his academy in Orem, UT. Not only did he quickly become a
trusted and highly regarded instructor but he also became my friend.
He always had time to help me with specific techniques on the mat, even
if it meant staying after class or working with me on personal time.
When I moved back east and began teaching Gracie Jiu Jitsu as an
affiliate he was always available to offer advice and support.
When he would visit for seminars he would spend time with my family and
even to this day he asks about my wife and kids. When my students would
meet him they were always amazed at his kindness and attention to
detail.
His experience and vast knowledge has further proven invaluable as I
have begun instructing Army Combatives and law enforcement courses.
It is without hesitation that I would recommend Professor Pedro Sauer
to anyone seeking the finest Gracie Jiu Jitsu instruction and seeking
the association of one of the finest persons I know.
Ray Griffin

Having been a scrawny korean kid with no muscle or brawn to back myself
up with, I grew up very passive and withdrawn. I'd spend all day in my
room, sitting at my desk on the computer or reading comic books wishing
I had a purpose outside of my school work. I was never good at sports
and couldn't catch a ball if my life depended on it.
The moment I started grappling and training under Pedro Sauer, it
slowly came to me that this was something I could make mine. Professor
Sauer's jiu jitsu may be the most technical and complete in the world,
but his charisma and love for his students overshadow his jiu jitsu.
He has taught both me and my friends on how to be a decent person, to
never speak ill of anyone, to be patient and forgiving, and to always
look forward to life. Professor Sauer commands respect not through
force or strictness but through the sheer friendliness of his demeanor.
The thing I respect most about Professor Sauer is his normal and
down-to-earth attitude towards all people. I've seen meathead after
meathead walk into his academy and he wouldn't treat them any different
than his own family. Sure, he might arrange to have their butts kicked,
but I feel that the way he acts socially and the social contributions
of his style of jiu jitsu are worth one hundred times the jiu jitsu I
have learned from him.
The best thing about being a student of Pedro Sauer is that he isn't
just your master. He is your friend.
Sometimes he will beat me up though. That sucks.
Brian Chang

I Started training at Professor Sauer's sandy academy, Back in June of
2001. but it was, i believe September of 2002, right after Professor
Promoted Shawn Weaver to Black belt the speech he gave is what changed
my life, when i heard him say for the first time , " Never settle for
anything less then a Black Belt " that Speech changed my life.
from that day on , i was determined to get my Black Belt From Pedro
Sauer, and thanks to Professor Sauer, I am very Close to achieving that
Goal....
I give my students the same speech, that Professor gave that day back
in 2002, hoping to encourage them to strive for the same goal.
I cant Thank you enough Professor, i would not be where i am at with
out you.
Always your student,
Justin Angelos
Brown Belt

Pedro has been an instructor, friend, and mentor to me during my
jiu-jitsu journey. He has always upheld the highest technical standards
and his passion for jiu-jitsu is reflected in his teaching.
I am proud to call him my instructor and look forward to many more
lessons from him.
Ishmael Bentley

Being a Professor Pedro Sauer student has been the most life changing
experience I have ever had next to my son being born. When you are
around him you know you are in the presence of greatness!
As a teacher there are none that even compare or come close to his
knowledge and ability to pass that knowledge along.
As a person, you will be hard pressed to find a more caring, gentle,
friendly soul! I have been all over the US and some foreign countries
and I have never met anyone like him. He truly is one of a kind!
Scott Whitmer

My name is Chris Moore. I am a student at Renaissance Academy of
Martial Arts in Lynchburg, VA. RAM, as we affectionately call it, is a
Pedro Sauer affiliate under the guidance of Black Belt Jamie Ridgeway.
I am currently a 1 stripe Purple belt and received my promotion from
Master Sauer in December of 2009. I first started training Gracie
Jiu-Jitsu 4 years ago. I had never done any jiu-jitsu training
previously and didn't quite know what to expect.
I INSTANTLY fell in love with the art and started training vigorously
to learn as much as I could. I first trained with Master Sauer as a 1
stripe white belt. At the time I was amazed by his rank but didn't
quite yet understand the vast amount of knowledge that he had.
As I progressed in my training I began to see the nature of his
Jiu-Jitsu. The simplicity yet effectiveness of the techniques that we
would learn always amazed me. I would see the latest, greatest
jiu-jitsu techniques online and at competitions but I always seemed to
gravitate back to the basics that Master Sauer and my instructor had
taught.
The times that I have been able to train with Master Sauer since have
ALWAYS taught me something and it's usually the little tricks that blow
my mind. His attention to detail is second to none. His knowledge of
Jiu-Jitsu is amazing. He seems to always have an answer to any question
that I have. I have been able to go to him and ask for advice on things
outside of training and he has always been humble and down to earth.
Master Sauer is the epitome of a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and
martial artist. His humility and respect for his teachers is something
that has always impressed me.
I had the opportunity to attend the Rickson Gracie seminar that was
held at his new academy in Sterling, VA. It was fun to see how Master
Sauer interacted with Master Gracie. Professor looked at Rickson the
way we look at him, with that look of true respect and awe.
Also, any time that I have been in the Sterling area for business he
has always welcomed me in to train with a handshake and a smile. I
consider it an honor to be his student and be a part of his
association.
I hope to one day count myself among his blackbelts and I will not give
up that goal. Thank you Master Sauer for all that you have done for
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and thank you for sharing it with us!
Chris Moore

Its been 25 years since I started my martial arts journey and when
Keith Owen introduced me to his Master (Pedro Sauer), I was blown away.
The way he is able to describe techniques leaves black belt's in awe.
Effortless and pure technique and 100% Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
Thank you Professor, you have expanded my game a 100 fold!

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of http://bing.com, http://yahoo.com or http://google.com.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
